Post 1b: Integer Operations (Multiplicaiton and Division)

As Sage starts to feel better adding and subtracting numbers, he notices a group of kids clustered around the far edge of the line. Sage notices that they all seem to be avoiding talking about math. They don't even notice him. Sage turns back to the equations. Sage is feeling better about this room and is starting to be able to solve some of the equations, but then he notices some equations with multiplication and division signs...

We are stepping it up by doing the same as before, but with multiplication and division.

You and our intrepid canine student, Sage, are going to learn about integer operations with multiplication.

So, what are some common problems when doing multiplication and division with positive and negative numbers?

First, multiplying two negative numbers and getting a negative result.

Second, multiplying one negative number and one positive number and getting a positive result.

Third, dividing one negative number by one positive number and getting a positive result.

Fourth, dividing smaller numbers by larger numbers and getting smaller numbers.

Do you understand this topic? Sage is having slight trouble and will need to review.

After a few more equations, Sage realizes he can now do every problem in the hall, and can get himself to wherever he wants to go on the number line. He barks and the kids finally seem to see him. At one point in the number line, he notices a door with light spilling through the doorframe catches his eye. He looks around and spots a floating equation that will get him to the right spot in the hall. Then, raising his paw, Sage opens the door. As he enters, no one seems to notice that the entryway has gotten unnaturally dark. The darkness seems to be creeping into the room....
